What EPG means

EPG stands for Electronic Programme Guide. It is the schedule information a player displays alongside live channels. A guide can show programme names, times, descriptions, and categories, but the amount of information depends on the source, player, region, and update cycle.

Why guide data may be missing

Missing EPG data does not always mean that the live channel is unavailable. The player may need a refresh, the timezone may be wrong, a source may not provide guide data for that category, or the player may not support the format being supplied.

EPG troubleshooting sequence

1. Check the device date, time, and timezone.
2. Refresh the guide from inside the player.
3. Check one category against another.
4. Restart the player and device.
5. Update the player if an official update exists.
6. Send ITIPTV the player name and missing category if the problem continues.

EPG versus catch-up

An EPG describes a schedule. Catch-up is a separate playback feature that may allow a viewer to open an earlier programme. Never assume that guide data means catch-up is included. Ask what the current plan and player support.

Do not confuse EPG with VOD

EPG describes live schedules. VOD is a library of titles selected by the viewer. Catch-up, if offered, is another feature. Ask ITIPTV which functions the current player and plan actually support.
